"Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. "
Our devoted and dynamic choir helps lead the worship of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. We sing hymns, psalms, and service music with precision as well as passion. We have a deep understanding and appreciation of the important role that music plays in the life and worship of the Church. The choir has a repertoire extending from simple beautiful chants to impressive hymn descants and anthem selections. We have a large library that serves as an excellent resource of classical and contemporary choral anthems.
The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM in the comfortable choir room of Wisdom Hall. We have a well-planned rehearsal which includes time for prayer and personal intentions. Additionally, we meet on Sunday mornings at 9:50 AM to vest and warm-up, in preparation for our ministry. We enjoy each other's company and are always happy to welcome new members. There is no audition for participating in the choir; we simply ask that you have an authentic desire to praise God, along with others, through music and liturgy.
If you sense this may be your ministry of calling, please see me, Richard Mangiagli, Music Director for St. Thomas. I will gladly supply additional information and answer any questions you may have about becoming part of this vital and meaning full ministry within St. Thomas.
Our worship is accompanied by our vintage Pilcher pipe organ, which has been a part of this parish since the 1930s. We are very blessed with this instrument and the Kawai Electric piano in our sanctuary for use in our music ministry.
Please check back regularly for a schedule of musical events at St. Thomas Church.
